Kathleen Mullen Silva, CSR, RPR, CRR

President

 

Kathy received her court reporting training from Connecticut Stenographic Institute in New Britain, Connecticut, graduating in 1980. She began her career in Western Massachusetts and has been working in the Boston area in the freelance field since 1984. Kathy also holds a CSR from the State of New Hampshire. She was appointed to the board in 2011.

Jill Shepherd, RPR, CSR, CLR

Immediate Past President

 

She received her court reporting training in Southern California at Whitley College of Court Reporting. She has over 10 years' experience in the field. Jill was also certified in the U.K. and spent three and a half years working in the Crown Court in Cardiff, Wales. She currently holds her RPR and California, Massachusetts and New Hampshire CSRs and is pursuing her RMR. Jill was appointed to the Board in April 2007. 

Susan Garvin, RPR, CSR

Vice President

 

Sue obtained her degree in Court Reporting from Johnson & Wales, Providence, RI in 1983. She has been an Official Court Reporter in Massachusetts Superior Court since 1985. She was first appointed in Western MA, followed by Suffolk Superior and now reports in Worcester. She has been a previous member of the MA Superior Court Examination Committee and served on the MCRA Board as both Director and President (1996-97).

 

Loretta Hennessey, RPR, RMR, RDR, CRR, CSR

Treasurer

 

Loretta received her court reporting education at Touch Shorthand Academy in Boston, Massachusetts and has been reporting in the freelance field since 1977. She became the owner of Hennessey Corp. d/b/a Robert H. Lange Company in December of 1999. Loretta has been on the MCRA Board of Directors since 2000 and has served as Treasurer since 2001. 

Marianne Kusa-Ryll, CSR, RPR, RMR, RDR, CRR

Secretary

 

Marianne received her associate's degree in Court and Conference Reporting from Mass. Bay Community College in 1979 and was a freelance reporter until 2004 when she became a federal official court reporter in the U.S. District Court in Worcester. Marianne was appointed to the board in 2009.

Michelle Kaczynski, CSR, RPR

Director

 

Upon completion of her court reporting degree, Michelle began her career at Chapa & Giblin, a freelance agency in Detroit, and then opened Kaczynski Reporting in Boston in 1993. In 1995, she graduated with honors from Emerson College, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts. In 2008, she received her Master of Science from Boston University. She was appointed to the MCRA Board in 2006.

Jill Kourafas, CSR

Director

 

Jill is a 1985 graduate of Massachusetts Bay Community College where she obtained an Associates Degree in Court/Conference Reporting. Jill was a freelance reporter for several Boston reporting firms until she formed Reporters, Inc. located in Quincy, MA.  Jill was appointed to the board in 2012.

Lorreen Hollingsworth, RPR, CSR

Director

 

Lorreen graduated from Massachusetts Bay Community College in 1987 with an Associate's Degree. Since then she has been a freelance reporter in the Boston area. Lorreen also owns rental properties and dabbles in real estate. She is the wife of Jon and the mother of Sarah, Brad, and Emily.  Lorreen was appointed to the board in 2012.

Megan Castro, CSR

Director

 

Megan earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from George Washington University in Washington, DC, in 2001 and soon thereafter enrolled in court reporting school. She first attending Brown College in Atlanta through their online program and then completed her training at New England Court Reporting Institute in Boston. She began working as a court reporter in 2006 and was appointed to the board in 2014.

Frank Dunn, CLVS, CSR

Director

 

Frank has been working in the court reporting industry for over 35 years. Currently, he owns and operates Dunn Reporting Services, Inc. in Boston, Massachusetts. He received his CSR in 1978 and began working with Robert H. Lange Associates as a staff reporter. In 1986, he obtained his CLVS certification. In 1991, he left Robert H. Lange Associates and opened his own court reporting agency. Throughout the 1990s, in addition to running his own business, he traveled internationally to cover depositions throughout Europe and Canada. Frank is a founding member of Table 8 Litigation Solutions, a worldwide network of professional court reporting agencies, court reporters, videographers and trial support companies that provide litigation services throughout the country and globally. Frank attended the Emery School and Touch Shorthand Academy in Massachusetts. Frank was appointed to the board in 2014.

Lisa Phipps, RPR, CSR

Director

 

Lisa graduated from Massachusetts Bay Community College in 1985 with an Associate's Degree in Court and Conference Reporting. She has been a freelance reporter working in Boston for over 30 years. She was appointed to the board in 2014.

Stacie Reiser

Executive Director

 

Stacie came on board as Executive Director for MCRA in the Fall of 2007. She has worked with MCRA on their annual convention since 2005 and eagerly accepted the offer to assist the association in this role. She has over 20 years of experience managing meetings, events and conferences and holds a degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Travel Administration from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst.
