Jill Kourafas, CSR (MA)

President

 

Jill is a 1985 graduate of Massachusetts Bay Community College where she obtained an Associates Degree in Court/Conference Reporting. Jill was a freelance reporter for several Boston reporting firms until she formed Reporters, Inc. located in Quincy, MA.  Jill was appointed to the board in 2012.

Dawn Mack-Boaden, (MA), RPR

Vice President

After graduating from Erwin Technical College in Tampa, Florida in 1997 in court reporting, Dawn worked as an official in Florida for two years and has been a freelance reporter in Boston since 1999. She has been a member of NCRA and MCRA for many years. Dawn joined the board in 2018.

Janet Wynne, CSR (MA), RPR

Treasurer

 

After obtaining an Associate’s Degree in Legal Administration from Bunker Hill in 1978 and then working in a small law office for two years, Janet went on to obtain an Associate’s Degree in Court and Conference Reporting from Mass Bay in 1982.  She worked as a freelance court reporter in the Boston area until the mid ‘90s and then became a stay-at-home mom.  She returned to the profession in 2008 and continued to work in the same capacity for several years until ultimately moving to the Cape Cod area and starting her own agency.

Barbara Hoey
Secretary


Barbara is a 1989 graduate of Massachusetts Bay Community College with an Associates Degree in Court and Conference Reporting.  She has been a free-lance stenographer for over 30 years.  After working with Melvin Lipman in Boston she founded Hoey Court Reporting in 2008.

Darlene Caiazzo-Sousa, CSR (MA), RPR

Immediate Past President

 

Darlene has been a freelance reporter in the Greater Boston area for 21 years.  She is a graduate of Massachusetts Bay Community College with a degree in Applied Science in Court and Conference Reporting.  In addition to her membership in MCRA, Darlene is also a member of NCRA and NHCRA.  She was appointed to the board in 2015.

Kimberley Bouzan, CSR

Director

 

Kimberley graduated from Massachusetts Bay Community College Court & Conference Reporting with an Associate degree in 1990.  She is a seasoned stenographer reporting legal proceedings in Boston and Rhode Island.  Kimberley was appointed to the MCRA Board in 2021.

Kimberley sits on our Education, Certification, Mentoring & Outreach Committees.

Rosemary Grogan, CSR, RPR
Director


Rosemary graduated from the Stenotype Institute in NY in 1980.  Upon graduation she worked in the NY court system and grand jury predominantly on criminal cases.  In 1990, she moved to Massachusetts and works as a freelance court reporter in  Massachusetts, as well as Rhode Island in civil litigation.  Rosemary was appointed to the MCRA Board in 2022.

Megan Speed, RPR, CRC

Director

 

Megan earned her Bachelor of Arts in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences from the University of Connecticut in 2016. She graduated from Hardeman School of Court Reporting and Captioning in 2020 and began working as a CART Provider at that time. Megan was appointed to the board in March 2021 and currently sits on our Outreach and Education Committee and Mentoring Committee.

Katherine Tevnan

Director

Kathy graduated from Champlain College in 1986 with degrees in Court Reporting and Legal Secretarial studies.  Upon graduation she moved to Boston from her home state of Vermont where she has worked continually as a freelance court reporter.  Katherine joined the MCRA board as a director in 2020.

Catherine Zelinski, RPR, CRC, CSR (MA)
Director

Catherine trained at Johnson & Wales College in 1983 and continued her education at The Cittone Institute in her home state of New Jersey.  She began her career as a freelance stenographer in NJ before moving to MA, working as a freelance stenographer in the Greater Boston area for Melvin Lipman.  Catherine trained under Nancy Eaton and transitioned to CART Provider in 2006.  She has worked as a CART provider at many local colleges and universities as well as continuing her work as a freelance stenographer.  Catherine is on several state contracts providing stenotype services and is also a member of NCRA.  She was appointed to the board in May 2020.
